Abstract

The article investigates the application, architecture, and optimization of remote-controlled signalling systems (RCSS) in modern infrastructure. The study summarizes the role of advanced communication technologies, including RF, fiber optics, IoT protocols, and satellite systems, in the development of RCSS. The applications of these systems in railway transportation, urban traffic management, and industrial automation are comprehensively analyzed. The methods and technologies such as SCADA, PLC, CBTC, and adaptive traffic control systems are examined in terms of their functional capabilities. Additionally, the study highlights the contribution of RCSS to enhancing safety, reducing human involvement in hazardous environments, and enabling predictive maintenance. The current state of RCSS implementation in Azerbaijan is evaluated through case studies in the Baku Metro, energy, and transport sectors. The article also demonstrates the practical advantages, existing challenges, and future potential of RCSS in a regional context through case studies involving institutions such as AzerEnergy and Azersu. As a result, it is concluded that the application of RCSS enables the development of reliable, flexible, and real-time intelligent infrastructure systems.
